Pego Casa
Just an hour’s drive from Lisbon, this idyllic Peninsula feels like a hidden paradise with deserted beaches, fresh seafood, and stunning natural beauty. The coastline remains untouched, with strict regulations prohibiting high-rise buildings.
During the search for a seaside home, this place immediately felt right; the way the land is oriented, its location in the middle of the dunes, and the fact that it’s just 800 meters from the beach. Here, you can truly disconnect from everything.
Instead of a traditional lawn, the garden mirrors the surrounding dunes, with sand, a wooden terrace, and pathways made of pinus, the local wood species. The garden features carefully positioned native trees, creating a completely natural feel.
The goal was for the house to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, avoiding any disruptive visual impact. The house is built in an L-shape, positioned to capture sunlight
throughout the day while also ensuring privacy. The front façade is relatively closed, while the back features expansive windows that open to the landscape.
Inside, the living room and kitchen serve as the home’s central hub. The master bedroom and bathroom are located on one side, while the guest rooms are on the other, ensuring a sense of separation and tranquility. Tables, seating and bedding by am designs, handmade in Belgium.
